The Dignity for Work – Cloth for Work (DFW/CFW) project, supported by GOONJ, has been implemented by SPARSHA since 2019 to promote dignity, self-reliance, and community development in rural Balasore. The project engages community members—primarily farmers—in local development activities such as cleaning, repairing community spaces, strengthening village infrastructure, and improving environmental conditions. In return for their collective efforts, participants receive essential clothing and materials as recognition of their contribution, not charity. The program covers all villages across the blocks of Baliapal, Basta, Jaleswar, and Bhogarai, directly impacting 20,000 beneficiaries. Through this initiative, SPARSHA encourages community ownership, resilience, and social responsibility while addressing basic needs with dignity and respect.
